From Meditation to Management – Jill, our Treasurer’s story

Jill, our treasurer, explains her involvement in our charity.

I am still new to the role of Trustee & Treasurer at WayfinderWoman having been appointed in 2023.

Around this time last year, I was searching online for some help with relaxation and sleep, attempting to alleviate symptoms brought on by the menopause.

WayfinderWoman were offering places on a Mind Calm Meditation workshop and also advertising for a new Treasurer!

Having  worked in finance for the past 25 years I decided to make contact, attend the workshop and the rest is history.

I have volunteered at other charities over the past few years and I enjoy “giving back” when and where I can.

The Mind Calm day was really helpful, we had fun and I met some lovely people, many of whom were seeking help for similar issues.

I have also recently attended our WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) training, which was informative but more importantly highlighted the hard work and compassion shown by our Hub Managers and Volunteers on a daily basis.

I hope that our charity will continue to grow and help many more of those needing our help in the wider community.
