International Women’s Day
On International Women's Day we frequently celebrate women who are in the headlines. This year we celebrate the complexity of the 'ordinary', yet extra-ordinary women who lived through the pandemic. Join us at Eastbourne library on 8 March to discover more.
Every 8 March women around the globe celebrate International Women’s Day. It’s an opportunity to come together and to celebrate women’s achievements. This year we’ve teamed up with East Sussex Library Service to highlight ordinary women, to share their insights and experiences through what was, for some transformational, for others burdensome, period – the pandemic.
Our Women in Lockdown book, stories by and about women during covid-19 is now available at all East Sussex libraries and for reading groups. On 8 March we will be at the central library in Eastbourne to talk, to share those stories, to maybe find some new ones and to celebrate women’s lives. Join us and find out for yourselves what women thought about this life-changing period.
