DESCRIPTION:Have fun swapping your pre-loved unwanted clothes for other quality clothes. Clothing also available to buy . Have coffee\, cake and a chat\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nOur Wayfinder women have also emptied their wardrobes to donate clothes to be sold on the day. We are working in collaboration with Age Concern who are donating clothes from their Grove Street branch. Raffle prize included with ticket entry. \nHow does it work: \n Bring 3 items of unwanted clean female clothing on the day of the event \n Pay £5.00 on the door when dropping off the clothes \n £4.00 if booked through Eventbrite (this gives us an idea of numbers attending) \n Drop off clothes to be swapped and or donated between 10-10.30 on the day of the event \n You will be given a numbered ticket when you present your three items\, this will be put into our raffle draw \n We will start the swap at 11.00 finish at 12.00 \n Stay at the WayfinderWoman office where you can buy a coffee and cake or return at 11.00 \n Opportunity to buy items that have been donated \n You can pay for any bought clothing\, entrance fee\, coffee and cake by cash or card \nWhat we expect for the swap: \nGood condition clean pieces\, with no holes\, stains\, missing buttons\, broken zips \nWomenswear\, with no underwear\, pyjamas\, slippers\, swimwear or accessories \nFundraising information: \nWayfinderWoman is a female led charity that helps women find better lives by building their confidence. DESCRIPTION:Caroline Ansell\, MP for Eastbourne and Willingdon will officially open our new premises at Suite 1\, Highlight House\, 8 St Leonard’s Road\, Eastbourne BN21 3UH. \nAlthough we moved into our new premises from 1 January\, because of lockdown we were unable to open.  Since the relaxation of some of the restrictions\, we have been open for appointments only.  To celebrate being able to welcome women without an appointment\, to truly be a ‘drop-in’ hub\, Caroline Ansell has agreed to officially declare the hub ‘open’!  Pop in and see the work that we do and speak to our volunteers.

Then this workshop is for you!\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nFREE ASSERTIVENESS WORKSHOP FROM WAYFINDERWOMAN TRUST \nFacilitator: Sophie Brigden \nThis workshop is for women only. \nYou’ll get the chance to talk in a small group about what assertiveness really is and how you can start becoming more confident in yourselves. \nThis session is all about building your assertiveness skills. We will start with some self-reflection focussed around where you are now and by appreciating the skills you already have. Through group and individual practical exercises we will explore ways to add to your assertiveness tool box and prepare you to confidently apply these to a difficult conversation you need to make back in your workplace. \nThe overview of the day includes: \nSelf-reflection and what you already do well. \nWhat it means to be assertive and what your default communication style is. \nHow to say ‘no’. \nActive Listening and other skills for having courageous conversations. \nApplying an assertiveness framework to prepare for speaking up at work. \nThe workshop is online via Zoom; you will be sent a link by email to join\, to ensure you receive your link to this workshop register at Eventbrite \nBefore the course day\, please complete the following pre-work: \nPre-work: Fill in the self-assessment (below)and think of a workplace scenario you are prepared to discuss where you need to have a difficult conversation with a person and would like to be assertive with them. \nA Self-Assessment  (You will need pen and paper for this) \nBelow\, you will find some questions. It is a self-assessment to help you reflect before the course. The aim is for you think about what you already do well\, would like to be able to do\, and a couple of quick first steps. During the first part of the session we’ll talk about the self-assessment\, but it’s up to you how much you share. \n1. On a scale of 0 to 10\, where 0 is ‘I have no assertiveness skills whatsoever’ and 10 is ‘I have perfect assertiveness skills’ where would you put yourself at the moment? (The first number that comes into your head.) \n2. What tells you that you are at that point in the scale and not at 0?  (In other words\, what are all the things you can already do. As many different reasons as possible.) \n3. What number would you like to reach on the scale? \n4. What would you be doing if you were at that point?  (Think of this as though someone were following you around with a video camera during your working day. What would they be seeing you do\, if you were at that higher level of assertiveness?) \n5. Going back to the first number you thought of\, what would you need to do to move up just one point on the scale?  (e.g. If I was at 5\, what would I need to do get up to 6?)
